I suppose payload is the best real spec we have to go on. But I often wonder why the large differences. My truck is rated for around 1300 payload and 10,500 towing. Same drive train and frame as the Sequoia, which should be somewhat less since it is an SUV body.
But then there is a truck like the F150 Eco rated for over 2k payload and 11,500 towing. I realize the motor is rated for slightly more power. Is that the only real difference? Or is it partly to do with the engineering standards, I forget the number, that not all manufacturers use for their ratings?
And 3100 rpm for the Toyota 5.7 is just fine, it makes peak torque around 3500.
