Our 2011 F350 came with one and we love it. I didn't read through every post here, so not sure if it was mentioned, but the bottom of the foot ladder also fold open to make a wider platform for stepping. It's great and we love it. Super handy since the bed sits a little high. On our previous truck, an F250, we installed after market swing out steps that mounted under the side on each side. Due to road grime and moisture causing the joint to stiffen, it was often difficult to swing them out.
