How do you like your tailgate ladder?

I am planning to buy a new F150 and trying to decide whether the tailgate ladder is worth the money. It seems more like a gimmick than a tool to me but I have had several cases where once I got used ...

Same issue here, but I'm 6' tall so I'm not very short. The newer Ford and Ram HD trucks are really tall.

I'm going to check out some of these aftermarket options that have been mentioned.


While I am looking forward to getting a new truck I am going to miss my 1984 Nissan that I can stand beside flat footed and reach most of the bed. It sure is handy for chores around the farm but it is very much showing its age and I am tired of driving a jalopy. I am spending over $1000 on steps so that I can get into the new truck and then it will still be a stretch in most cases.

While I lean towards Fords I really think that Chevy has the better idea here with the steps in the ends of the bumper.
