How do you travel with a cat??

We've been traveling with our cat for several years now. He roams free in the truck and camper when driving. He will usually get up into bed and under the covers when traveling or will sit on his nest behind me atop his litter box. His carrier is on the right side of the rear seat and he will get into that too. He's a great traveler and only goes out on leash. If he's out, most of the time he wants back in and he seems to be able to pick out his camper from others. When camped, he will go through the pass through to get to his litter box, carrier, or nest areas and hang out or he comes back and hangs with us. Our guy is really more dog like than cat like. We usually camp up in the forests and never had a problem but we keep a close eye on him and never is he unteathered.
