Upgrade the trailer to disc brakes and you will feel how poorly the typical OEM brakes perform. A trailer with disc brakes may actually be capable of stopping itself
Tow the same trailer with a dually and you will feel the improved braking performance the dually provides.
To the OP you've done a lot of rationalizing and added a lot of gizmo's to your truck.
But in the end as you are aware the math does not work in your favor.
You can either believe the number and upgrade trucks or ignore them, cross your fingers and go for it.
