Lantley, I am not sure when GM got the new frame in the 3500, RAM did it in 2013 and Ford 2017. These newest trucks are nothing like the older ones. New frames and 18 or 20" wheels made a lot of difference. I did not want 20" based on tire options and costs. GM has cripple load carry capability with LT245/75R16's on the 2500's for years. Any SRW with 17" rims and tires is a dog left out in the rain. My 2001.5 RAM came with the optional LT265/75R16's on 8 inch wide rims. GM guys put LT265/75R16's on the narrow 6.5" GM wheels which is a misapplication.
I would like to know what the OP installed as tires to get 7500 capacity? Chris
^^. See what I mean?
Who care what tires and rims are on his truck? Unless you just can't sleep knowing there may be a truck, somewhere out there, with more weight on a tire than the little #stamped on the side.........
And to make this post somewhat constructive rathe than just sarcastic.......there are a bunch of combinations of OE rims and applicable tire sizes that are readily interchangeable between truck models. Maybe the OP took OFF his PYO wheels and found something better. Or maybe he doesn't care, like a lot of the motoring world....
