How heavy is TOO heavy? GVWR on a 2500

You have a lot of stuff to make your truck "go", which is great to have... but being able to make that rig STOP is the most important to me.

I'm certainly considering it, it can be added in software (HP Tuners) already being used to allow deletes etc.
I am however also considering how much money I want wrapped up into a now 13 year old truck, sooner or later I will need to buy something and I wonder if all of this is steering me in that direction sooner rather than later.
The addition of an exhaust brake via the variable vane turbo is quite easy, simply set the value to max under 0% throttle when in tow mode, essentially exactly what later model GM's have from the factory.
