How heavy is TOO heavy? GVWR on a 2500

OP should look into a receiver that mounts to the frame.

I noticed that too. I assumed he was not using that bumper hitch to tow his trailer. Hopefully there is something I'm missing, or some sort of reinforcement or another receiver not visible in the picture
