I LOVE the Jayco 20E. Love the layout, space, storage, etc. But, there's a small fridge, and small awning. I think those are deal breakers for me. Does anybody know if it is possible to put a bigger awning on this thing? It looks like it would cover the outside storage area if I did that, but I'm willing to sacrifice it for the awning.
Does anybody rely entirely on that little fridge (in the 20E) and find it not a problem?
If we could use the trailer without sliding out the slide, that would be ideal. This camper doesn't allow that. It closes off parts of the inside completely if you slide it in.
We went from a 17' HTT that had a 3 cu fridge. We had that trailer for 10 years. So the 5 cu in the X20E is huge to us. With 3 adults we really haven't even filled it.
I really thought we would hate the short awning. Our old 17' trailer actually had a 12 foot awning. But the one of the X20E is better than I thought it would be. I'd still like a longer one, but I'm not going through the hassle and expense of changing it out.
As far as the slide, there is plenty of room with it closed. But it really only moves out about a foot. And its amazing how much extra room that creates.
One thing I can tell you is that there is no such thing as an ideal trailer. You will always compromise on something. Just don't compromise on things you want the most. If the awning and fridge size are deal breakers, then the X20E is not the trailer for you.
I wish you the best in your search!
