I think you already have your answer to warranty work in the future- Walk away! look for another RV company. When I asked about warranty work from Heartland re: my 5th wheel, I was given the name of number, email address of the the customer service representative at Heartland, he in turn gave me the name and phone numbers of RV service centers in my area that are authorized to complete Heartland warranty work.
Or, it is possible that you were talking to a sales representative who was "too low on the brain food chain" and he didn't know the answer and did not want to go ask his superiors. In either scenero, I would walk away!!!!
