Hey, this is fun... like a little trip down memory lane.
Someone said it earlier, I change trucks when I have to...
My first was a 1983 Datsun 4x4, I bought it used for 4K.
6 years and 2 kids later I sold it for 4K and bought my first and only new truck, a 1991 K1500 extended cab.
Soon after that, we bought our first travel trailer, a 12' antique. :)
10 years and 95K miles later I sold the Chevy when I was transferred overseas.
After I got back, and now with 3 kids/2 teenagers, I bought a beautiful 2003 F150 4x4 Super CREW (in late 2006) with 24K miles on it.
And of course we got another trailer. :)
Just last month, in 2015 and with 105,000 miles on the F150, I sold it to my 20 year old son and bought (Finally!) a 2012 3/4 ton F250 gasser 4X4.
And of course, we got a bigger trailer. :)
---------------
So the short answer: 6 years, 10 years, 9 years, and who knows?
