How long will 2x20 lb propane tanks last?
Assume it is fall and you need to heat the unit and run the generator to charge the batteries. About how long does this much propane last you?

Now that you have changed title from 2X40 lb to 2X20 lb. the propane will only last half as long. :B
Too many variables...depends on how YOU use it.
Water heater ON
Furnace ON
Stove top Burners
Oven
Fridge ON
20# cylinder has approx 4.7 gallons. Each gallon has 91,500 btus (430,050 btus total per cylinder)
Add up the propane appliances btu usage per hour. Divide total btus by that number and that will give you an approx. idea of total run time.
Then figure YOUR usage patterns.
