How maneuverable are TT's?

I am just back from offroading near Bald Eagle state park. My buddies stayed at camp site, but I was stuck in a hotel. I am still hoping to find a TT my 2009 Jeep GC can tow with a built in generator. I did check out Nash while I was in Oregon, and mostly liked what I saw, except the fumes of the new ones almost killed me

Another issue is where to put it. I have 1 1/2 acres, so you might think it would be no big deal, but alas my lot is not only not flat, but also wooded. I have a T shaped driveway, with a garage on the right of the top of the T. The drive in is fairly narrow, and about 90 feet long. At the end, I might be able to squeeze in a TT, but I doubt I have the maneuvering room. The horizontal bar is maybe 45 feet long, and 30 feet wide...

  • Go with the Aliner, a hybrid, or popup tent trailer. The hybrid or pop-up will give you more room, and you have a place for the canvas to dry out if you have to pack up wet. There's plenty of hybrids or popups that are towable with the Jeep GC...and again, they'll be much roomier than a real small TT. Since you're in MD, just make sure you get a unit with AC....then head over to Assateague (near Ocean City) and enjoy the surf!
  • With, say, a Nash 23, I am probably closer to 42 feet for TV and TT. I may have to add a pad extension onto the cost of the TT! And I just paid $3,000 to fix a sink hole behind the pad. :(
  • A trailer is as maneuverable as the driver is skilled. I seen people freak out about putting a 20' trailer in a spot, only to have someone else come along with a 30' and put it right in.
If you're overall rig, TV and TT is around 40 feet you would need at least that much length plus some maneuvering room. 30 x 45 is probably big enough but it's tough to say without being there.
  • my neighbor tows one of those A-Liners or Chalets
She uses it far mor than any of us in the neighborhood .
it has a front swivel wheel in the front like my boat trailer .
she single handedly manuevers it in and out of her garage .
her set up time from flat is about a minute
