- RoyBExplorer III have plans for a couple of lock boxes for use in my OFF-ROAD POPUP. With my front 5x7 deck I can mount a metal lock box up next to the trailer front wall and have a lockable access door from the inside hallway to it.
I also have plans for another access door in the bottom of a cabinet that opens up into a larger metal box mounted under my floor area. My OFF-ROAD POPUP has very tall trailer frame beams and this would be a perfect place to mount a good secure metal lock-box. These secure places are just to keep things from walking off when you are away.
Using such a secure box for firearms would be self defeating for me. My firearms and other defense spray items hang ready to go on a coat rack next to the outside door in plain view when I am inside my trailer..
Roy Ken - BumpyroadExplorerI posted a picture a while back of my small pistol safe bolted under my dinette seat. as somebody pointed out, anybody with a chain saw and plasma cutter could easily steal it.
bumpy - the_bear_IIExplorerWe have several hiding spots that are difficult to get to so they are secure. One is fairly large and was unexpected when I found it. I'm able to keep tool boxes and weapons in the space.
I just discovered another space the other day. You'd think after 20 years with the same trailer I would have found all of the cubby holes. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIShhhhhhh....it's a secret.
Telling folks that you have one bolted to the floor under bed, in a cabinet and that it's big enough to hold that which you feel necessary to be in a safe will just let them in on your secret.
And don't tell them about the one in the truck built into the bottom console.
Shhhhhhh
