Lots of safety factors required before hydrogen becomes an functional everyday fuel for vehicles.

Of course, nowadays, we hear about ICE lighting-up too, and EV batteries exploding or lighting on fire too. So, there is that. Any time we harness heat and convert it to useful consumer energy, we also create a certain amount of danger.
