A couple charging questions, Riesender, are Tesla chargers a universal rate cost wise? Or does it vary regionally.
Does anybody know how things are supposed to work with all the chargers WE THE PEOPLE are installing? Are we paying for Electrify America to have a bunch of new sites? Who is supposed to manage and maintain them? Of course nobody has mentioned anything about a discount since we all paid for the facility.
Hello Stsmark. It varies regionally as well as time of day in some places. So for example peak hour timing is more expensive than after 9 etc. The cheapest charging is done at home which is why over 90 percent of charging of EV’s is done there. It varies but for example, for us it is 8 times cheaper for us to charge at home than a tesla V3 250 kw supercharger and about 5 times cheaper than a BC hydro 50 kw dc fast charger. Of course on a road trip you have no choice, you have to charge at public or private facilities for a fee. It’s all good. Still a lot cheaper than gas.
Sorry I can’t speak to the second half of your question as I’m not informed on that. As well the answers are also likely to be very regional as well.
Hope that helps.
