Air bags tend to make sway worse, and in particular a problem if a single hose is run to fill them both at the same time. Air bags are to level a vehicle as when needing to mate to a 5th wheel trailer.
Far less problems when overload springs are added along with better shocks (i.e. dampeners). Lots of posts by people having problems with air bags but I have not come across any from people using Supersprings or similar overload devices on their trucks.
Air bags can fail and I would not want to be in the middle of a trip and find myself with only one working air bag. Springs seldom fail and even if a leaf spilts apart the other leaves will continue to support the load.
