How much is too much? Snow.

Hi all.
My TT is "in" it's winter storage spot out in the garden where mother nature can do as she sees fit. My winter storage spot is a bit of a tease because every time I look out the front window she's in full view. Right now I'm seeing snow accumulation. It's as deep as the vent covers and the AC unit is more of a bump in the snow. Does anybody clear the snow off their TT roof and how so?

  • Have had 6 trailers over the years and never cleaned snow off nor had any problems because of it. Dealers do not clean off their inventory sitting all winter and thousands of trailers in storage yards and farm fields either.
  • Ours is covered with a Sunshield tarp black side up which helps to melt the snow. I was up on the roof a few days ago sweeping the snow off to prepare for our trip to Florida. Be very careful in case there is ice on the roof. One can get some of it from the sides from a ladder.
  • I've had 40+" of fairly heavy snow in the high country of Arizona on my C and it made it through just fine. I have no idea of how yours is built but mine is tough as nails. I'm 250# and there is no movement AT ALL of my roof when I am on it.

  • Wet or powder snow? Moisture content is what you have to be worried about. If you can safely get up there and broom it off by all means do it. My fiver had about 3-1/2 feet on it a few years ago. Nice SIL got on the roof and pushed it off for us. No problems. But my fiver may not be typical of your TT. And it was really dry powder snow so weight was not that much.
