First if you are using the trailer you are using your battery. The only time you got to worry about you battery is if you leave it in your rig for long periods of time at really cold temps not doing anything. Think of your car battery sitting in your driveway for couple of days or even a week or two doing nothing and it is fine. As far as heat the electric heaters are the way to go if hooked to shore power and it is not extremely cold out. Now if the temps get really cold then you best turn up the furnace or you will have frozen pipes in the morning. The furnace also blows some warm air into your under belly to keep pipes, tanks and even your water pump from freezing. Now that is mainly 5ers & MH's since TT's have most of their stuff inside the TT under beds and couches.
