- Dick_BExplorerIt's easy to check the pressure from the drivers seat with a TPMS.
- mosseaterExplorer IIUsually once before a trip, and then visually before coming home. I've found I can sometimes see whether they are low, and if there's a question I will check them again. Here's a key point I've learned: Don't check them the morning of leaving. Check them a day or even two before.
I had one valve stem malf while checking it which caused the tire to empty and had to remove it and put on the spare in my driveway the day of leaving. I even installed a new core from my tool kit and it still wouldn't seal. If you do it beforehand, you still have time to get a new stem installed without the pressure of "right now". - tvman44ExplorerI have a TPMS and don't need to worry about it unless we have a big temperature change.
- trail-explorerExplorerI check before each trip too. I'm OCD about tire pressures.
- NanciLExplorer III check mine prior to every trip and usually have to add 5 pounds of pressure.
Then when we get to our snow bird destination, I check them every two weeks for the next four months.
