- oughtsixExplorerNEVER EVER EVER!!!!!
I have never bought a new trailer and I never will. I can buy a couple year old trailer for half of a new trailer or less and after the first camping trip there is virtually no difference between the two. I will never buy any RV through a dealer either! That is just another complete waste of money. I would rather look an owner in the eye and ask them what issues they have had with the trailer? If they say they have never had any issues... RED FLAG!!!
A new trailer is just as likely to leak as a used trailer. I trust my ability to find the damage from a leak on a few year old trailer. If there is a leak on a new from the lot trailer the damage will not be apparent unless if it is a huge leak and there has been a huge amount of precipitation to make the leak apparent. Yeah a new trailer does have a warranty... great if I want to skip a whole camping season while a dealer butchers a brand new trailer fixing the poor workman ship from the factory.
I am very glad there are a huge number of people that are willing to waste money buying brand new trailers... I will just never be one of them! - B_O__PlentyExplorer III average about 5 years in between trailers. Sometimes I pay cash, sometimes I take advantage of the interest deduction on my taxes. If I don't always pay cash for everything does that me a lesser person than those that do? Some people seem to be awfully proud of that...

IMO all here that answering a senseless post... Whats the point
Its just so stupid, again my opinion... And was just wondering why such a question would be asked....
So I will post ,because I was wondering, " How many cups of coffee does one drink when camping??" Geez I wonder how many will respond to that? 2, 5 , 7 . 20. all day long....etc...LOL
Just trying to make this a better site is all and make members aware of their reply's to frivolous nonsense...
Wow, we have gone on this RV forum from how many RV's we have owned to how many cups of coffee we drink at camp. Well, being on the west coast we are three hours behind the east coast folks so I am on my second cup. But, will catch up to you later.
This has been with your one exception a fun, light hearted, enjoyable read by over 40 participants that did not think it was stupid or senseless.
You always have the option of not participating in any discussion if you think it is stupid or senseless. Your mommy probably told you growing up that if you did not have anything nice to say then don't say anything. Good advice, really!!! And that just might make it a better site, what you advocate you are trying to do!!!! - HuntindogExplorer

I dont think thats allowed in the rules.. Shouldnt you get a temperary suspension for that or get banned?
I did not direct my question to anyone directly and stated opinion only with regards to the content. And if you read the second post after that I did state this is a Q and A forum so I assume anything goes.....
Why would I do that. You are just improving this site... And I thank you for it. Again.

Why is it always someone from NJ making my state look bad??
LOL.. because, we in NJ, live in corruption and high taxes.. The state looks bad from any angle IMO..
Ive been here all my life... I keep moving further south but it dont get any better. Once I hit Cape May I guess Ill have to jump off...:B - Doug33ExplorerWhy is it always someone from NJ making my state look bad??
I've enjoyed reading everyone's responses on this thread, even if there is no consensus. It is interesting to see what is important to others, even if it differs from your perspective. I would say the biggest reason I have moved up and on from previous RVs is because of need with a growing family, and then need for some options that make setup and towing easier as I get older. Even something as simple as a powered awning and an electric start water heater makes the RV life so much better for me. - lawrosaExplorer

My amount of coffee during the day? Well, as I asked my Doctor when he asked me (at my latest physical) "How many cups of coffee do you drink a day?", I asked him: "How big a cup of coffee are you talking about?"... I drink less now, but not too long ago it was basically one continuous cup throughout the day. Now I usually shut myself off after lunch.
(Oh, and I enjoy reading and responding to "stupid" threads - makes for interesting discussion, and also makes for an active forum in general. Absolutely no reason to lock this thread unless it goes off the deep end.)
