How to determine tank fill levels?

We picked up our new truck camper today. Unlike our 5er and TT this truck camper does not have a light panel to show the fullness of the black, grey, and fresh water tanks.

What is the best way to determine levels so you know whether you can take a shower or flush the toilet?

Thanks.

  • Mines full when waters stop draining in the bathroom. I haven't yet filled the black water tank. I do have sensors but they never work right
  • I'd look at your tanks and see if they have sensors installed. I bet they do. You could probably get a kit to easily install a monitor. I would think all the tanks come with the sensors installed and the monitors are pretty universal. I didn't even realize anyone made RV's with no tank sensors. Every RV with tanks I've owned has had them including my TC.
  • Can you see into the black tank by looking down the toilet? Don't understand the lack of tank monitor.

For my black water tank I just look down inside an open toilet and can see the level. The gray tank isn't as easy. I know about how much gray water I use and when my fresh water gets low, I know if went somewhere, so it is getting close to time for dumping.
