How to Hook Up to Cable TV in RV parks

I have an external cable connection on my Travel Trailer. We've encountered campgrounds that advertise cable TV. How do we hook to it? What is needed? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

  • As suggested above........also have to turn antenna booster/amplifier OFF
  • You need a length of coax cable to go from the outlet at the electric pedestal and to the inlet on your TT. Usually 10 ft will work But could be more is needed if your inlet is not near your service panel. I carry a 10 footer and a couple of shorter ones along with a couple of double male barrel connectors to hook them together. Then go to your TV remote and set your input to cable. usually at RV parks cable you don't have to do a SCAN but if the stations don't come in, then do a scan.
  • A cable from your connection to the parks connection. The set TV to cable and auto scan for programs.
