How To Repair a Hole In Front Cap

I have a 2017 Hideout Travel Trailer, the lower part of the frnt cap is black diamond plate. The plate is aluminum and fairly thin. I tow with a F450 Ford with a flatbed. I was backing into a tight spot and cut to sharp and punched a hole in the diamond plate with the corner of my flatbed. Does any one have any ideas how to repair with out replacing the whole piece across the front, the trailer is all metal not fiberglass. Put a piece of black duct tape on it to seal out any water intrusion. Thanks for any Ideas
  • Thanks those are some good ideas. I'll post when I do something.

New diamond plate isn't that expensive if you decide to replace it after all. I realize the effort and messing up the rest of it is probably bigger reason to leave it alone. Maybe your dealer can get you some from the manufacturer.

The front takes driving rain so whatever you decide had best be watertight.
  • I have seen work light fixtures on the lower front areas of trailers. Perhaps you could ad a light (and matching one on the other side).
Or a designer type patch, with a matching one on the good side.
