How to Run TV from 12 Volt Receptacle in Trailer???

My camper has a 12 volt plug in receptacle right near where the TV mounts. I assume that it is there so that I can use a converter to run my TV when dry camping; however, I have read posts online say...

Should work fine as it worked for me for a while.

I just got bored with the growing tangle of devices that also needed charging. So I wired in a 300w sine wave inverter to the regular convenience outlets. About $300 self install.
