Your truck should have an ITBC (internet acronym for Integrated Trailer Brake Controller)
I'll attach a photo showing the 3 connection plugs on both sides of the license plate. It's hard to see them because they have spring loaded caps that stay shut, except number 3, and they are all black caps like the bumper. Come to think of it, that's probably why I didn't notice them before. Number 1 is the 7-pin connector (I think).
1 is your 7 pin
2 is your 4 pin- for smaller, cargo trailers
3 is your access to lower the spare
