Van is the ultimate for interior room. Milquetoast towing performance.
3/4 ton Suburban quit making them in 2013? Can get 6.0 LS with 6 speed and 4.10s. Will pull a bit better than most vans.
GMT 400 burb with 8.1. More snort but only 4 speed and older.
Excursion, if you can find one. Newer V10 won’t break the bank. A nice 7.3 diesel will cost more than it’s worth imo.
Any big crew cab or mega cab pickup with a topper. Throw the dogs in back. Kids will have decent room. And personally I hate cleaning out the 3rd row of kid snacks and spilled juice boxes! Lol
I’d set em side by side in the back seat of a pickup personally. Easier to load and unload them. Can reach them from the front seat. And with a pickup your options are 1000% more numerous than any of the suv or van options.
All depends on your budget and priorities. Neither of which you enumerated. Nor how/ where you intend to travel. IE. Many long day after day drives, maybe the van has an edge.
Spending serious time at altitude in the mountains out west, a newer diesel truck with some real power is a much better experience for dad behind the wheel!
