I tow 9300 lbs with an 18 Ram 2500 6.4, 4.10 easily. I also towed the same 9300 lbs much easier with a 12 2500 CTD. As far as the 6.4 screaming, I guess it screams sometimes. So what. It only lasts for a very short time. I usually just think about how much less I'm paying for gas vs diesel and the screaming goes away:)
I can cruise all day in 5th or 6th depending on speed on the interstates. In the mtns I run in 5th or 4th. Still not screaming.
When I had my 12 CTD and current 5th wheel I always felt like I had too much truck. It was effortless when towing. The Hemi works harder to tow but it's not like it's strained. It just does it differently.
