There not exactly the same but close..In buying my camper we took it off a late model 90's Dodge DRW which was very close,then we put it on my '94 F-350 DRW and the guy said,that was easy.(Laughing)There was slightly more room on my ford squeezing between the jacks then his Dodge.
Then came the close calls his wife and he had getting it between the jacks.
So yes,they are necessary for a dually.
