Lots of Ford owners carry that kit with them and do it on the side of the road. After a couple, it shouldn't take much more than 20 minutes. You might want to carry a couple of coils with you too!
Absolute BS..
Just because you are a "Dodge Guy" it doesn't give YOU the right to spout of this kind of GARBAGE..
I have had 5.4 engines since 1997, put MANY, MANY miles on without popping one spark plug. First truck had 145,000 miles before trade in, the next has almost 200,000 miles (I still have) and the another one we have is a 3V 5.4 with 90,000 miles..
That there is 435,000 (FOUR HUNDRED THIRTY FIVE THOUSAND) miles with no lost plugs.
The main reason that the 5.4 can spit out plugs is the fact that folks DON'T BOTHER TO TORQUE THE PLUGS.. You MUST USE A TORQUE WRENCH, PERIOD.
Ran into this at our local Ford garage on out one truck with 90,000 miles.. Had them change the plugs, a few weeks later we started smelling raw fuel in the cab but only at stop lights and backing up..
I pulled the COPs and found one of the plugs was half turn loose.. Checked all the others and they were not tight.. The dealer mechanic failed to use a torque wrench and darn near cost us a lot of money..
I called the dealer out on the carpet and ripped them a new place that the sun doesn't shine..
You can not rely on simply tightening them to feel, a torque wrench is mandatory.
