Update. I just fixed it. Its now running good. We are going to clean it and sell it. We will go shopping for a newish truck after the current one is sold.
There is no "need" to sell it, you fixed the damaged plug and the fix will be fine.
What you do need to do is recheck the torque on ALL the plugs..
The torque spec may vary a bit through the years so you may want to check with your Ford dealer mechanics to get the proper spec for your vehicle..
For 2006 3V 5.4 it shipped from factory at 33 ft lbs but the replacement spec was 27 ft lbs..
When torqued properly you should not have to worry about popping any more plugs.
If you don't have a torque wrench, get one.. You NEED it. It is the single most important wrench that you need for working on aluminum heads. Harbor Freight often has them on sale for as low as $10 and from a digital torque wrench tester I have they are pretty darn dead on with my tester for calibration.
As far as other suggestions about ripping open your engine, don't bother.. There simply is no need to dumping a bunch of parts into it unless it quits..
The only real weak internal problem is with the 3V cam phasors (3V is '05 and up) which get noisy. doesn't hurt the engine although might affect mileage and power a bit but is more a nuisance ticking noise.
Over all the 5.4 is a very good design and is a very dependable power plant.
