I have family with the same truck... 2001 F250... 5.4 v8. It too spit out a spark plug at least once, maybe twice. But they've kept the truck, and it now has over 300k on the original engine and transmission. They have spent alot of money on the front end (when it had over 200k on it). And at over 300k it uses a little oil.
So as long as it doesn't start having major problems, keep it for now. But if you'd rather not risk it, I don't blame you for replacing it. A couple years new on the same engine, they have a significant power boost.
