Actually the early 4.6, 5.4 and V10 up to around 01 had the spark plug spitting issue, they fixed that in 02. Then they came out with the 3 valve head, and had problems getting plugs out in one piece! Then they fixed that issue with a different designed plug, I think around 09, not sure on the exact year.
