They robo harvest the email addresses. One click gathers all the emails on a page. The key is the @ symbol that makes it a recognizable link to snatch.
I just type my email address within craigs list with (AT) instead of the @ sign. Once I started doing that all scam, spam in my inbox stopped.
Buyes all have smart phones now so they will be more apt to key in your email shown right in your ad, than go thru that whole hidden process cragslists offers. Albeit I applaud them for offering the hidden email option not printed within the ad like so many other classified do.
Once paypal got rouge I closed all accounts associated with EBAY and Paypal and switched to using only craigslist. I sell 200% more of my stuff at the price I want AND faster, selling to 'local people' with CASH IN HAND. :B
