Do you have the title? Did you register it in your name? If so then you are safe. You can check it's history via Carfax:

Frankly I'd be worried about being stopped for driving a stolen vehicle if you really think that it is. Also I can assure any dealer would check the vehicle history as the first thing that they do. And call the cops as the second thing if it shows as stolen.
