When I was in high school about 35 years ago, a buddy had his Camaro stolen. A few years later, the police called him to say that they needed him to identify it. I gave him a ride across town to look at it. It was in an apartment complex, and the present "owner" had a different title for it. Not sure how he got it, but it was definantly my friends car. I recognized several things on it as I had helped him with some mods to it. It still had the original VIN plate under the hood as well. The present owner was told that it was no longer his car. He was quite upset as he had put quite a bit of money into it on tires/wheels... The police said too bad.
