All we need to know is did the OP purchase from a dealer. If so just relax. So this dealer is not paying their bills. During the automotive melt down did everyone who purchased a used car from a dealer run to the police or an attorney just in case the dealer was not paying their bills.
Just take a step back and relax. Once it all shakes out the business owner will be accountable. The UCC laws on these transactions were put in place for situations exactly like this. Otherwise you would need to to title searches and maybe insurance on every used car purchase from a dealer.
