I do have the title, but I don't think it matters. If my truck was sold via consignment, then I have a problem regardless the status of my title.
Remember, the dealer signed the sellers' title by forgery. To DMV, it will look legit and they will issue new titles to new owners. The only time this will be an issue is when the original owner comes forward and say this is not my signature.
So, contact the previous owner and ask if they want the truck back, or would they be willing to give you a legal, binding, release of interest.
If they give you that piece of paper, properly signed and notarized, you have no more concerns. Enjoy your new truck.
