I got duped

I was at a Flying J fueling up my company car when I saw a RAM 1500 with big tires pull into the RV island towing a 39' Cedar Creek fiver!
Being that I tow my Columbus 320RS fiver with a RAM 2500 CTD, I couldn't believe this person dared to tow a huge fiver with a 1500!
I walked over after I was finished and started to laugh. The guy had stuck "1500" emblems where the 3500 emblems once were. He also removed the "Cummins" emblem. The 4" tail pipe and the diesel fuel hose stuck in the side of the truck gave it away.
I started talking to the guy who said it was an excellent way to strike up conversations with other people. We had a good laugh.
It worked for me.
  • A friend of mine did that with a Dodge Challenger he had in the 70's, it was a 440 six pack and had 383 badges on it. Blew the doors off many an unsuspecting street racers.

  • Years ago I was sitting in stopped traffic on I-17 S returning to Phoenix from Flagstaff when I noticed a guy stopped next to me with a Ford truck (DRW pickup) sporting an F550 badge; I couldn't resist asking him about it and his response was "it's just to mess with people."

As with this case, definitely an effective conversation starter!

My "SRT 6 CUMMINS TURBO DIESEL" Badges, get the powerstroke and duramax guys wondering...good conversation starter.
