I have diesel dually and TC with full bathroom, slide, good size refrigerator, build in inverter generator and lot of bells and whistles for much less than the budget, but took me lot of time and lot of travel to get those deals. Not to mention that they were fixers.
You definitely need to start with truck and if you don't buy dually, you will be limited with search for camper.
Prices vary a lot from state to state and there was good reason ($$$$) while living in California I was buying camper in Minnesota.
