Just start searching craigslist. I just bought a low mileage f350 diesel a couple of months ago that also looked like it was bought yesterday. I can make money on it for sure. And I've been offered more than I paid already. You can see it below. You can find the deals. I paid a good price, but it was the third one I looked at. I am good at not paying more than I want to. With that left I would've had more than $10k for a camper. Mine I only paid $3k for. It's definitely serviceable, but I don't expect to have it more than a few years. A couple grand more and you could get something a lot nicer and newer.
There are those finds out there. Just don't limit yourself on certain brands. Do your research and figure out what you can live with. What will work for you. Age doesn't mean anything if well maintained. Get the paperwork and you'll feel a lot better about the purchase. $20k is a lot of money. Even in these times where everyone thinks their dodge diesel is gold. Nobody (or at least anyone smart) doesn't really expect to be offered asking price for what they are selling. And if they are, show them the green and their minds change. If they don't change their minds, it may be a red flag and you should probably move on anyway. It's not the only one that was ever made and you don't need to buy "that" particular one for any reason.
