..."truck camper pass through" ...
This is a must have for me, so I'll be making one for sure.
Can you expand on why you put a primary importance on this feature?
I do not have the pass-thru, but I believe that to install a crawl boot that you may have to remove the rear window of the cab. This may pose problems if you intend to use the truck as a daily driver.
Because I don't need to be getting out of the TC at 3am when people approach it and knock on it or start smashing it or jimmying doors to break in in say...Miami.
It's a security feature.
You go through the pass thru and drive off. Had to do it half a dozen times in my old conversions.
In Maine once, the ex wife and I awoke to a weird scraping sound. It freaked me out, so I used the pass thru and started the truck with a huge roar. Exhaust was very loud.
Immediately a guy pops up right at my driver's window. I look him in the eye. He bolts up the hill and I chased him with the truck nipping at his heels all the way out of the park and ride. At least I scared him. Ha ha. He ran into the woods over a snow bank to lose me, but it was that ice crust snow where you fall through and cut your shin with every step. So, he got what was coming in the form of bloody shins. Ha ha
He was stealing my catalytic converter. Hundreds and hundreds in damage. $800 I think? Destroyed the catalytic converter.
So no, I'm not sleeping anywhere I can't have access to the driver's seat. Period. I have more similar stories.
I'm not worried about making a door on the pass through for the truck and the TC. That's child's play. I've built 2 full conversion and a 50' x 25' catamaran. I can put little doors in on my pass thru. No worries. One day job.
