How do those Arctic Foxes hold up for resale? Same as Lance? Also, what are the main differences? Those seem to be the most common 2 brands.
Cassette toilet for me is because it's easier to empty on the road full time. Any toilet, side of the road porta john, any place is a good spot. No rv bs to worry about. Had a regular old thetford porta potty in my old sprinter conversion and it was the most convenient thing ever. Plus, in freezing weather, it stays liquid if indoors. So many advantages for full time. If there is one thing I have learned from 25 years of boats and RVs, it's that simplicity makes life easier.
I'm looking to jump ship, literally, in a week. Ha ha. Really need a break from boat stuff. I'll try to take my time, but I'm pretty anxious to get off this thing right now.
When you say "cassette toilet" are you talking about the built in models from makers such as Northstar and Outfitter or are you talking about one of those porta-pottie type cassettes?
I don't think many makers of hardsides use a cassette type toilet so you are going to have a tough time on that one.
I've now noticed that as well. A cassette toilet is typically the built in one. You have a smaller tank that slides right out the side of the rig, has a handle and wheels and can be brought to any spot you'd walk to go to the bathroom on your own. Any public bathroom.
Far better than a standard rv setup for ease of use full timing on the road.
I mean, it's not a deal breaker. I can just buy a standard porta potty and use that as well.
I am WELL aware of what a cassette toilet is as I have been using one since I went with that option on my 2007 Outfitter. AFAIK only Northstar uses them in a hardside camper.
So the cassette takes care of your black water but what are you going to do for the gray? Just dumping alongside the road or into a stormdrain is illegal. So you are still going to need to find an RV dump station.
On another note, where do you plan to be able to fill up your fresh water tank if you aren't going to be using an RV park.
