I don't think a 3/4 ton will do it for you. My 2014 Silverado 2500 has a payload of 2450 lbs. With your passengers and hitch weight you will be very close to max payload. A one ton would probably be better suited for your needs. If looking at a gasser I would lean towards the 6.4 Hemi in the Ram.
