Thanks, Mad Norsky. So, I think you're saying that if it has a Payload Capacity of 3100 lbs. plus(just to be safe), then we are probably good on the rest of the specs of the truck.
Okay......... sooooo... the next thing is that even though we won't be OFTEN doing mountains/hilly terrain, we don't want it to struggle when we do. (Will be gate guarding, so will be stationery a lot of the time.) I'm getting it now that good power in the mountains with this setup means a diesel.
*Probably a 350/3500 diesel truck... can be a dually or not. Did I pass? :) You are all so helpful. I'm assuming the single axle will be considerably cheaper.
Oooops. One more question. About the cross winds. In our Class A, we have had instances where it is stormy, and we get blown around when we are near or between a couple of semi trucks. Did I get it that the dually pretty much eliminates the bulk of that behavior? We are excited (and somewhat tickled that they are DELIVERING our fifth wheel to our job site... and we have time to look for and purchase a truck).
We'll be on the hunt for our truck next. Wish we could find one with the hitch work included! You guys didn't say anything about the hitch in regards to air bags, etc. Read some posts in this forum, and I THINK the consensus is that the air bags are not that important.
