I would go for a dually. Used, an F-350 with the V10, 5R110 transmission, and 4.10 or 4.30 gears. If you;'re willing to go a few years older, a 2006-2007 Ram 3500 with the Cummins or a Chevy/GMC 3500 with the Duramax would work well.
