There have been some claims here that some of the emissions components of the new diesels only have a life span of say 120,000 some odd miles.
LOL, owner of 96,2001, 2003, 2006, 2011 and now a 2014 diesel and never kept any of them past 60,000 miles. So I surely don't know how valid the above noted claim is.
As far as my earlier posting, yep that 3,100 pound figure would be bare minimum. The higher above that you can get, the better off you will be.
Do remember we are all "collectors" of stuff. So plan on having elbow room as it were in weight range for all sorts of other stuff that has not yet been accounted for here.
Some stuff could be, but not limited to, generators, fire wood, a tool box full of stuff for the pickup, additional passengers, that pet St Bernard you've always wanted and so on.
