Well, I've been determined to ignore the peeps on here who are determined to ruffle my feathers about money. I haven't left. We've been dealing with our new camper. We solved the problem temporarily... but along the way, have received advice about the TRUCK.
First, we negotiated with the dealer to include towing it to our site as part of the even trade. They did. now we have a great trailer and NO tow vehicle.
However, a friend said they had a huge truck for his 5th wheel, and got frustrated that all that money was tied up in a truck he didn't use except for moving the camper. He was only moving it 5 or 6 times every year. Since we are off on a JOB in it, we checked with people there. Seems a LOT of people are here with huge campers and no truck. They just pay someone to move it, as they don't move often or too far. So, for the moment, we are going to do just that.
Seems they will move it for under $100... set up included. So, for the near future, we can avoid having to buy one. However, once we get back to doing about 10 or 12 Nascar races each year, we will HAVE to do it. If this job works out, that won't happen for at least a year. Meanwhile, I have everyone's kind advice documented. We shall be watching for any of the "possibilities" to show up at a good price. Then we'll leap for it.
So appreciate all you guys here do to help people like us.
Now, I have the daunting task of trying to get online and find BOOKS on every single thing in this camper. I can't imagine anyone trading anything in and not providing the manufacturer's books with the used vehicle. Ugh. We can't figure out the complicated entertainment center or the fireplace or the air bed contraption or EVEN THE WINDOWS! We are reasonably intelligent and have owned four campers. Yet, we can't get any of the windows to open. (!!!) Duh. But I'm serious. So, I'm off to do a long hard search for all of it.
Thanks, you guys!
