Sorry I can't help with your problem. But I think you'll be happy with a casette toilet. I got mine new in 2007, and I wouldn't have anything else. You may need to empty it a little more often, but it sure is easy.
(If you have the option, I suggest getting a hand sprayer to 'flush', instead of using the built in flush. Uses way less water)
