I need brackets that attach to the truck to secure the TC?

Hello again guys,

Back again with another question about the new to me TC we just acquired. I just purchased a 2000 Lance 1130 and now need to find the brackets to secure the camper to the truck.

The PO tells me there is everything I need except the specific pcs. that attach to my truck. My truck is a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500. What are the brackets called and can you point me to what I need?

Thanks again,
Phil

  • Another vote for Torklift.

I have the Torklift Talons, an all aluminum bracket system.

They are super light weight, yet extremely strong. They use very thick aluminum, as well as being attached and braced directly to the truck frame. My camper is extremely heavy, and I've had no issues with slippage what so ever.

In addition to the Talons, you'll also want to get their Torklift Fastguns, the turnbuckles that are quick-release and lockable with the Fastgun Locks.

Why would you want to lock your turnbuckles you ask? Couple reasons--eliminate the (very unlikely) possibility of them popping loose, but also to keep someone from "borrowing' your fancy new camper tie down system.
  • Here you go, put in your specific truck style: https://www.etrailer.com/tiedown-2001_Dodge_Ram+Pickup.htm
  • Another vote for tork lift. You can install them yourself very easily and they secure to the frame of the truck. Super secure.
  • Your going to get varied opinions but as was stated there are only two, as mentioned. I went with TorkLift as with HJ's you have to drill 16 holes, that wasn't my cup of tea.
  • Torklifts' frame mounts are better then the Happijack bed mounts with a larger camper such as yours.
  • Torklift or Happijac are your main options. Just add .com to either of those and check them out.
